So Glad to Have Been So Wrong

My name is Gloria Greggs and I bought some spy phone software to catch my husband out. I didn’t know whether he was being unfaithful but I had some idea that things might have gone awry. The thing that made me most suspicious actually was his secret phone calls. There was always a lot of muttering going on down the phone and, when I entered the room, throat clearing and a hasty replacement of the handset. Accompanied by a guilty look. Something was wrong here and he did not seem to be trying that hard to hide the fact.

We should have been happier and spending more time together. Our twenty year anniversary was coming up soon and he seemed to have forgotten. I couldn’t stand the suspense of wondering what was wrong so I invested in some spy phone software.

Frustratingly, all seemed to go quiet for a few days. He was being more careful, perhaps, aware that I was on to him. I felt very tense and very stressed out. I was hoping obviously that I was wrong and I needed the reassurance. Twenty years is a long time to be with somebody and I desperately hope he was not becoming bored with me and seeking attention and satisfaction elsewhere. In one way, I dreaded finding out what was going on and in another way I just had to know one way or the other.

And then I got my answer. I was using an interceptor so I was able to listen to Fred’s calls. I was shocked by what I heard but pleasantly so. I was the guilty one for mistrusting him, not him for cheating on me. He was not! He was booking the cruise of a lifetime and having all kinds of trouble with the booking, the poor man. He had not forgotten about our anniversary at all. Now I had to pretend I knew nothing about it, which was very hard. I went shopping and bought new clothes. I had my hair done. Fred must have wondered what was going on and whether I had an inkling about what he was booking but I had to contain my excitement and when, on our anniversary, he presented me with the tickets, I had to look surprised and delighted. I was delighted anyway and I managed to get away with faking the surprise.

Here’s to another twenty happy years!

Story of a cheating husband who was found via using ‘Spy phone’

Outline of the Story:

This is a story about a husband (Ted) who has been having an affair with his secretary (Sharon) for the past six months, his wife (Susan) becomes suspicious and orders a ‘Spy phone’.

Cheating husband

It was the 8th Anniversary of Ted and Susan’s marriage

Susan: Honey, can you please come home early today so that we can go out for dinner in the evening?

Ted: Sure, Sweetheart! I will try my best to be home early.

It was around 7’o clock and Susan was still waiting for Ted to come, but she couldn’t find any trace of Ted. Susan decides to call his cell phone. She tries and gets no reply, then she calls the office

Susan: Hi! This is Susan. Can I speak to Ted

Receptionist: I am sorry Susan, Ted left the office early and has gone for the day.

Ted comes home around 10’o clock and says,

Ted: Oh! Darling I am so sorry. I had an emergency call for a meeting and so I was delayed. I am also sorry for not calling to let you know. We can celebrate our anniversary another day.

Susan gets very upset, but she wants to know for sure what the reason is for Ted’s lie, so she says:

Susan: It's fine darling, I understand.

In the back of Susan’s mind, the thought of Ted lying to her keeps haunting her again and again. The next morning, as Susan is still thinking about Ted, she decides to spy on Ted. So she goes to Google and types in ‘Spy phones’ and she is directed to http://www.thespyshop.ws/spyphonehowto.html. She goes through the website and she is amazed at the information about ‘Spy phones’, so she decides to call the company for more information.

Susan: Hi! Can you please give me more information about the ‘Spy phone’?

Customer service: Sure! I will briefly explain the features of ‘Spy phone’.
The lady on the phone explains the following features to Susan:

Hidden spy camera kits come with complete audio and are made available to be installed in your mobile phone. The camera kit explains the technical setting of the camera and it is very easy to use.

The listening device for the spy camera is called a ‘bug’. The device is usually a combination of a miniature radio transmitter with a microphone. The listening device is useful to listen to a conversation from a remote location. To record the conversation, you have the option of secretly recording the conversation with a microphone and a recorder without the party you are spying on knowing about it.

The other services used in spy phones are ‘Jamming devices’ and ‘GPS tracking’. A jamming device is usually used in hotel rooms, conference rooms or wherever you might suspect there might be hidden video cameras. You can use jamming devices to prevent being recorded by a listening device when you are in meetings with others. Jamming devices can also be used to prevent cell phones from ringing when you are in a movie theater, gas station or restaurant.

GPS tracking systems are known as ‘Global Positioning Systems’. These systems are known to be satellite based navigation systems. They are driven by a series of 24 geo-synchronous satellites continuously transmitting their position. The data from them is useful in navigation, personal tracking and automatic vehicle location. They are actually known to be useful for all sorts of purposes.

Susan is very interested and thinks the listening device to spy on her husband Ted might be what she needs.

Susan decides to try the software and gets help with installation of the software. Her husband Ted carries the ‘Spy phone’ without knowing the software is installed. Ted goes to his office, and with the help of the spy device, she learns that he has been having an affair with his secretary, Sharon, for the past six months. Susan records their conversations with the Spy phone to have as a proof.

One day, when Ted comes home late, like every other day, Susan asks him

Susan: Honey! Why are you late today?

Ted: Sorry darling! You know it’s this work and meetings. It is hard to keep up with my work.

Susan is angry and she plays the recorded conversation between Ted and his secretary, Sharon. Ted knows he is caught and confesses his affair with Sharon.

In conclusion, Susan got the proof of her suspicions with the spy phone. Many incidences take place that need the use of ‘Spy Phones’, but misuse of a ‘Spy phone’ is not acceptable and it is governed by strict laws.

The Anniversary

Michelle woke up just like any other day. In the big safe arms of her husband Sean. She got out of bed and followed her routine just like any other morning.

But today was not like any other day. It was their fifth wedding anniversary. As she sat at her desk, she thought of the past five years. They had been happy when they first were married, and have had their share of good and bad times, but Sean had a dark side.

Sean could scare her sometimes but she knew he had a good heart and would never hurt her. It was his suspicious nature that he possessed that frightened her the most. He had a quirky side also, so when he bought them matching cell phones, she smiled and laughed and put it in her purse. Everyday she looked forward to receiving an inappropriate message that she could show no one else.

As she was lost in thought, the distinct ring of her cell phone broke through her thoughts. She smiled as she looked at the clock. “Right on time” she said aloud. As she picked up her phone to read the text message, her heart sank.

“Hi Chelle, I miss you, ya wanna meet for lunch?” Michelle had been seeing Mark for over a year. She loved Sean, but at the time she felt like she needed more. She had tried to tell Mark that she wanted to make her marriage work, and that she loved her husband. He just would not let go, but in a way, she missed him also.

Michelle decided to meet Mark one last time. She texted him back and they arranged to meet on her lunch hour.

When she returned to work, she found a beautiful bouquet of flowers on her desk. She had not been sitting for even a minute when she received a text message from Sean say that he had a surprise for her when she got home.

Anticipation made the rest of the day went by very slowly, and when it was finally time to go home, she found herself breaking the speed limit to make it home.

When she walked through the door, she was greeted by her husband with a passionate kiss and led into the living room where she found more flowers everywhere.

Michelle was feeling very guilty because she had met Mark on her anniversary. When she saw the preparations that Sean had made, she broke out in tears.

Sean led her to the sofa and sat her down.
“I have a very special surprise for you. I stopped for take out so we can spend the entire night together. I have a few gifts for you that I will surprise you.” He said.

When she glanced around the room, she noticed a gift box with an elaborate ribbon on it.
“What is it?” she cried out in delight.
“Later” he replied. “Lets eat dinner and watch a video! I’ll get dinner and you get the video going.” He said and left the room.

After a few minutes, Sean was still out of the room. Michelle decided to start the video without him. She figured that he would be in soon.

When the video started playing, Michelle was horrified to find that she and Mark were the stars of the movie. As she raced through the house, screaming Sean’s name, she realized that he was gone. He had left through the kitchen door and left a simple note that said “goodbye”

She raced to the driveway to find only her car there, and when she went into the house she realized that all of Sean’s possessions were gone.

After crying for half the night and pleading with him to come home through text messages and voicemail, she realized that there was a gift she had not opened. When she opened the box with the elaborate bow, there was a folder filled with all of the text messages that she had sent to and received from Mark.

There was a letter from Sean in the box also. It was attached to a big yellow envelope.
“I knew there was something wrong when you would not talk to me. I had to know for sure. The cell phones that we shared are actually spy phones and you were caught. For my last gift to you, open the envelope.”

With tears streaming down her face, and hands shaking, Michelle removed the contents of the envelope.

When they found her body in her living room, she had been dead for several days. The divorce papers were still clutched in her hand.

Sean was held in police custody as a potential suspect. Only after an autopsy was he released. It was determined that she had too much to drink and had fallen down and hit her head on the granite table in the living room.

The Backstabber

My name is Mike Sands and I have been working at Harwicks Ltd for nearly fifteen years. Recently, I applied for a promotion and was sure I would get it, so you can imagine my puzzlement and disappointment when I was passed over for a much younger member of staff. Never mind my years of hard work for Harwicks, my brilliant attendance record and the fact that I was the best suited for the post.

“Sorry, Mike,” my boss informed me, when I went into his office for an informal chat, “Claire was the best person for the job and we are happy with our decision. Feel free to apply for another post if anything else comes up that you like the sound of.”

He nodded and turned away to let me know that I was dismissed! The cheek of the man! He knew I was the best person for the job and there was something strange going on. Claire had only been with Harwicks for a couple of months and I did not think she was particularly good at what she did.

I mulled things over and realized that stress over my job was interfering with my health. I had to do something. I bought spy phone software. I had to get to the bottom of this!

I worked late one night and sneaked into my boss’s office. I planted a mobile phone behind some books. I was going to find out exactly what was going on!

The very next day I got my answer. Claire went in to a meeting with him to discuss her new role. The conversation turned out to be mostly about me.

“Mike is totally useless. He never gives me any help and slows everything down. Plus, you know he messed up the bi-annual report, don’t you?”

Me? It was Claire who had taken over the responsibility for the report, refused any assistance from me and ruined the whole thing. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! The traitorous little madam. She came out of the office, meeting my icy glare with a fake smile. I would have to catch her out, now I knew what she was up to. I got my chance the very next day.

“I brought you some coffee, Mike,” she smiled, placing a steaming mug on my desk, “and I was wondering if you could help me with something.”

“Absolutely,” I replied, an idea forming in my mind, “what do you need?”

Claire gave me some work she had to do for the chairman of the company but has absolutely no idea how to do it. It was simple. So I did the work for her and she was very grateful. Little did she know that I had done to her work what she had done to my chances of promotion. I had made twenty mistakes on the chairman’s work and it was all Claire’s! The chairman was not going to be impressed with her efforts. Maybe that promotion would be mine after all.

The Cruelty of Children

I was worried about my daughter. She is fourteen years old and I noticed that she seemed to be withdrawn and very secretive. Like any father, I felt protective towards her and wanted to help. I installed text forwarding software on her mobile phone and waited to see what would happen. I justified this to myself – she is my girl and I have to protect her. Many things were going through my mind – drugs, boys and all kinds of scenarios. She would not talk to her mother or me, so I thought I would just check things out. Very soon I found out what was happening. The first text to be duplicated to my phone read:

“Today it happens. See you you-know-where after school. We are going to get you.”

I was rather mystified and went along to my daughter’s school. I watched her come out of the gates, look around nervously and begin walking home. Nothing happened. I was baffled.

The next morning at 8am I got another message:

“You didn’t come. Now we aren’t happy. Going to get you on the way in.”

I sat in the kitchen, drinking coffee and nibbling some toast although my appetite wasn’t there. My wife came down and informed me that Kate wouldn’t be going to school.

“She’s got a stomach ache,” she told me, shrugging, “she’ll be ok.”

Around midday I received another text.

“Hiding, scaredy cat? You have to face us some time.”

I was very tempted to phone the number these messages were coming from but then Kate would know what I was doing and I was only doing this out of concern.

Finally I got a text I could do something with:

“5pm at the back of the school. If you aren’t there, you’ll be sorry.”

Kate would be in bed. I would be at the back of the school at 5pm. I had to get to the bottom of this. I found it hard to concentrate on anything that day, concern for my daughter at the forefront of my mind. At five minutes before 5pm I was around the back of Kate’s school. Three girls were waiting there. I pretended to tie my shoelace.

“Bet she doesn’t come again,” one was saying.
“She will. She has to see us sometime,” replied a chubby girl, lighting a cigarette and inhaling deeply, “and then we’ll get her. Got to be careful though, this is our last warning.”

The girls had not even looked in my direction, so they had not realized then my mobile phone had more than one use. I had videoed their entire conversation. I went straight up to them and introduced myself. I warned them that if I showed the recording to their headmaster, they would be expelled. The girls looked terrified. This was just a stupid game to them but they had been making my daughter’s life hell.

Within a week, Kate was back to her normal, chatty self. The bullies had found someone else to pick on, perhaps. Kate never said anything to me anyway and she was happy again. Her happiness means the world to me.

The Department Store

Standler’s department store had been in business for over a hundred years. Bill Standler was the fourth generation to take over and run the business. He was credited for bringing the store into the technology age.

Growing up, he saw the store go through good times and bad times, and watched as it grew from a one level wood sided country type store, into an enormous multi-level brick building.

Bill knew that retail had its ups and downs, but lately, sales were down, however, at the time of inventory, his numbers were way off.

Standler’s, just like any other retail business had it’s share of shoplifters. It seemed lately that the store was attracting more.

Standler’s was a family run business, and considered their customers family. They had security, however it was not as sophisticated as other stores. With a heavy heart, Bill decided to introduce his store’s security system into the modern age.

After doing some research on the Internet, Bill found exactly what he was looking for.
The following week, held a meeting with store security.

Bill Addressed all of his concerns, and then handed each of his security people a cell phone. He had told them that he completely reworked the security of the store and explained to them that surveillance of the store would be done from a central location and monitored through electronic eyes throughout the store. The person monitoring the store would then send text messages the security people on the floor. They would be able to send text messages to security guards on each floor as the suspected shoplifter traveled throughout different departments.

Bill explained that he did not want to offend his regular customers by intimating that they were stealing, and that this method would be most effective.

After using this method for of Surveillance for six months, Bill noticed inventory and sales figures were just where they were supposed to be.
